Broken Bow is home to nature lovers and a gateway to Beavers Bend State park among so many other attractions! There are plenty of things to do and plenty of places to see during your time here!

 

One of the first things to note is we reference "Broken Bow" as well as "Hochatown".  Broken Bow is a town right before you get to Hochatown which is where Broken Bow Lake is located.  Hochatown is the area that most of the activities that we reference in this travel guide are located.

Area Attractions

Broken Bow Lake

The reservoir is located on Mountain Fork River and is only 9 miles northeast of Broken Bow. It covers 14,000 acres and is bordered by 180 miles of shoreline. Broken Bow Lake makes the perfect destination for boating, swimming, fishing, kayaking, canoeing and much more. Helpful businesses like Beavers Bend Marina offer speed boat, houseboat, and water sport rentals to make the perfect day at the lake surrounded by national forests.

Hiking

The forests and mountains surrounding Broken Bow Lake are also a perfect area for hikers to explore! There are great trails like The Big Oak Nature Trail and The Beaver Lodge Nature Trail that wind along the forests, following with picnic areas and camping sites. There are other fantastic trails for nature lovers including: David Boren Hiking Trail, Friends Trail, South Park, Deer Crossing Trail, Cedar Bluff Nature Trail and much more. ATV Riding

Hochatown Petting Zoo

Are you an animal lover like us!? Hochatown’s Petting Zoo is open for business! Come visit the amazing wildlife sanctuary that is open throughout the week. To see more details, head over to their Facebook page!  When you’re done seeing the animals, walk on over to Amy’s Macarons in her super cute food truck! Enjoy some DELICIOUS macarons in a variety of flavors and colors!!  Get your shopping fix in at Hochatime and check out some fun logo wear and gifts! 

Dining Options

There are plenty of delicious restaurants and hubs around for you to enjoy! Fine dining is also available in Hochatown at local favorites like Abendigo’s Grill and Patio, Steven’s Gap Restaurant, the Grateful Head (their Psychedelic Supremo pizza is THE BEST), and the Blue Rooster.  The Hochatown Saloon is also a can’t miss spot with a full menu, western flair, and full bar.

Hochatown Night Life & Music

Luckily Hochatown is not far from Broken Bow and it is a hot spot for live music! Here are some recommendations from locals that you should definitely make time for.  Mountain Fork Brewery,  Hochatown Saloon, Abendigos, and the Blue Rooster. Live music may vary depending on the time of year!

Golf & Mini Golfing

There is golfing available during your stay in Broken Bow!  Experience Cedar Creek Golf Course winds through beautiful pine trees and around Broken Bow Lake. If you are more of a mini golf lover, the Old West Town Mini Golf is going to be an adventure! Travel back in time as you play different courses throughout the old west town. 

Hochatown Golden Zone

Hochatown also offers a new area called Timber Creek Trails where you can go shopping and enjoy fun nightlife and Distillery Tours! With plenty of things to do and places to eat, there is also a must at the Tasting Room for specialty cocktails! Stop by other shops like the Okie Girls Ice Cream & Coffee Shop for a quick snack!  Ready for some adventure?!  Check out the Hochatown Escape Games and book a time for your group to solve some puzzles and mysteries!

One of our favorite spas is Treetop Wellness Spa for their relaxing massages and treatments.  Availability may vary but make sure to book as soon as you can!
